We are happy to share some impressions from last week’s translator event organized by the Finnish Literature Exchange (FILI). The seminar lasted a week and gave new as well as old translators the chance to get a bigger insight into Finnish literature by attending workshops and panel discussions. One of the panel discussions was about Finnish crime literature. Together with Leena Lehtolainen, Matti Rönkä and Antti Tuomainen the translators were able to discuss the characteristics of Finnish crime literature.
Leena Lehtolainen also met her translators from all over the world in a lunch meeting. The invited translators were discussing Lehtolainen’s success series’ Maria Kallio and The Bodyguard with the author herself, and she warmly expressed how much she values the work of the translators.
Elina Ahlback Literary Agency wishes a happy Midsummer Eve weekend to all and will be back on Monday, 25th of June.
