MorkovahtiNewsletterMay6We are thrilled to announce that Carl Hanser Verlag, one of Germany’s most esteemed children’s book publishers, has acquired rights in pre-empt to Monster Nanny (Tammi), Books 1-2 in Tuutikki Tolonen’s middle-grade adventure. Monster Nanny is a humorous and touching story at the same time, and never cheesy. Children are cared for by large, hairy monsters that turn out to be harmless, caring vegetarians. It’s like Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are for eight-year-old readers.”
– Saskia Heintz, editor, Carl Hanser Verlag

A warm and hilarious blend of Where the Wild Things Are, Mary Poppins and My Neighbor Totoro, Monster Nanny tells the story of a contemporary Finnish family whose daily routines are turned upside-down when a hairy, swamp-smelling creature said to be specializing in childcare shows up at their doorstep.
