Thai Rights sold for Katja Pantzar’s EVERYDAY SISU

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the Thai rights for Katja Pantzar’s EVERYDAY SISU have been acquired by Thai publisher Flying Bear Co.,Ltd. Rights have been previously acquired by Hojosha in Japan and Penguin Random House/TarcherPerigee in the US will publish the original work EVERYDAY SISU in English language in Spring 2022.

In Everyday Sisu, journalist Katja explores the simple practices that make Finnish life so stable, sustainable, and healthy for body and mind, even when life doesn’t go as planned.

When the world has changed drastically due to the pandemic, Thai Publisher Flying Bear, finds exactly the right attitude needed to give people hope and resilience on both personal and the societal level, and endorses EVERYDAY SISU:

“As soon as I heard that Katja Pantzar was writing her second sisu book titled EVERYDAY SISU, my heart was pumping fast and my gut feeling was telling me that “this is the one” even before I had a chance to read the manuscript. The journey from that day up till the present time has indeed involved a lot of sisus in so many ways. I am tremendously happy that Flying Bear Co., Ltd. will be able to publish EVERYDAY SISU for our Thai readers as I believe it will help strengthen the hearts and minds of those who seek and need to be courageous and strong amidst the harsh pandemic time as well as the lengthened recovery stage that no one can precisely predict the end of it all. As the quote from Greek philosopher Heraclitus goes “the only constant is change,” there is no better perfect timing than now to build the resilience, courage, and fortitude within ourselves, society and the world. Thank you Katja for producing the wonderful work at the time we need it the most. May Sisu Be With You!”

– Yammy Patchaya Teerawatsakul, Author of FINLAND 101 / Founder and MD of Flying Bear Co., Ltd.

“I’m thrilled that we’ll be publishing Katja’s next book, and there couldn’t be a more timely topic in these challenging times. We all need more sisu, and this book will help readers cultivate more of it every day.”

– Marian Lizzi, Editor in Chief at TarcherPerigee.
