We’re excited about this week’s UK publication of Katja Pantzar’s Finding Sisu: In search of courage, strength and happiness the Finnish way. Coincidentally, according to 2018 World Happiness Report, which ranked countries according to GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, social freedom and so on, Finland is the happiest country in the world. What makes this small country rank so high? Is SISU a key element? In addition to United Kingdom, presses are running hot in Germany and the U.S. Most of the book’s 17 international publishers are planning the publication for 2018.
Finding Sisu has been recently featured in articles about Nordic well-being. Daily Mail wrote a longer piece on Pantzar and her book, calling sisu the “new Scandi outdoor craze from the world’s most happy nation that Finns claim boosts wellbeing and keeps you happy”.
Ireland-based Independent claimed that the “book’s entry to the self-help market is well timed. The art of bouncing back has become a hot topic in positive psychology circles while resilience training has become increasingly popular in schools and workplaces”.
