Two new sales for INHERITED LAND by Maria Turtschaninoff in pre-empts!

INHERITED LAND BY MARIA TURTSCHANINOFF SOLD TO DENMARK AND ROMANIA!

We are thrilled to announce that INHERITED LAND by Maria Turtschaninoff was sold in pre-empts to two new languages in one day!

Editura Univers acquired the Romanian rights from Sten-Erik Tammemäe at Elina Ahlback Literary Agency and Alpha Forlag acquired Danish rights from Anna Kappauf at Elina Ahlback Literary Agency.

Praise for INHERITED LAND from its new Danish publisher Alpha Förlag:

“We at the office are very impressed with what we have read in the English sample and the Swedish manuscript. We would love to publish this great family saga about a Finnish family followed through centuries, which we think in more general terms is also a strong depiction of human suffering, love, and survival with very powerful portrayals of characters and settings. Maria Turtschaninoff would be an amazing addition to our list next to Nordic authors such as Ann-Helén Laestadius and Rosa Liksom with Arvejord as an obvious book to put in position as the great historic novel in Fall 23 or Spring 24.”

INHERITED LAND was our big book in Gothenburg Book Fair and in New York and will be THE BOOK OF THE FAIR in Frankfurt! Previously, rights have been sold in Sweden, Finland (in Finnish), and Azerbaijan. The original Finland-Swedish edition was just published to excellent reviews. There is strong interest from many other countries. We recommend publishers to read and decide quickly as we expect more deals to close before Frankfurt!
