Simukka Argentina and reviewsWe are thrilled to announce that Nuevo Extremo, the distributor of La Galera in Argentina, will launch the Argentinian edition of Salla Simukka’s Snow White Trilogy later this spring! This marks the 48th territory for this wildly successful YA trilogy.

Several editions of Book II in the trilogy, As White as Snow (Tammi 2013) will hit bookstores around the world this spring, including in the UK by Hot Key, in the U.S by Amazon Publishing/Skyscape, in Spain by La Galera and in Sweden by Raben & Sjögren. In Germany Arena published As White as Snow in January, and Simukka is is due to meet her German fans at the Charlotte Dessecker library in Pullach, Munich on March 16th with translator Elina Kritzokat.

Praise in Germany for As Red as Blood:

“An absolute recommendation! Thrills, tension and a strong female protagonist guaranteed!”
Lovelybooks online publication, Germany

“Suspense-packed and, above all, a multifaceted story of finding yourself and growing up. It contains literary allusions, and shows the spirit of the Brothers Grimm.”
Deutschlandfunk, Germany

In Sweden, where Book I, As Red as Blood (Tammi 2013), was published in the fall of 2014, literary bloggers and critics continue to pen positive reviews.

Praise in Sweden for As Red as Blood:

“Simukka’s introduction is amazing, and she is very good at keeping up the tension and setting the scene..Lumikki is a bit like a lighter Lisbeth Salander, like an untouchable ice queen at least outwardly.”
Annas bokblogg, Sweden

“As a youth novel it works very well.. it would be fun to put this in the hands of a few students and discuss it. There is much to talk about here, both in the details and in the big picture.”
Dast Magazine, Sweden

In addition, Bokhuset literature blog called Lumikki “the best kick-ass character” alongside Katniss from The Hunger Games!

The Snow White Trilogy comprises As Red as Blood, As White as Snow and As Black as Ebony. Starring a headstrong, haunted and sharp 17-year-old girl named Lumikki Andersson, the series has received praise from numerous international publications including Financial Times and The Guardian, and starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews and Booklist.
