Kari Nars participating in the Singapore Writers Festival

Dr. Kari Nars, one of Finland’s most respected financial experts and author of Swindling Billions (Miten miljoonia huijataan, Tammi 2009), is participating in the Singapore Writers Festival (SWF). Held on 22.-30.9.2011, SWF is a multi-lingual literary festival featuring the world’s major literary talents. On 29 October, Kari Nars will discuss Swindling Billions in a Meet the Author session, and on 30 October he will participate in a panel discussion called Measuring Happiness.

Dr. Kari Nars has a long and distinguished career in various high banking positions in London, Washington and Paris, and as a director of Finland’s central bank and Ministry of Finance. He has published several books, and was chief editor and main writer of Excellence in Debt Management by Euromoney Books in London.

Dog and Her Girl (Kerppu ja tyttö, Tammi 2007), Sari Peltoniemi’s hilarious story about a dog who has a girl as a pet, has achieved success in Poland.  Published by in Poland by Wydawnictwo W.A.B. in 2010, the book was voted third in a children’s book contest Przecinek i kropka last spring. Sari Peltoniemi in memoriam (1963-2023). We are deeply saddened by the news of author Sari Peltoniemi passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sari Peltoniemi's family and friends. Our heartfelt condolences.

Sari Peltoniemi was a versatile and respected author who wrote for children, young adults, and adults. She  also wrote lyrics and played the bass in the Noitalinna huraa! band. Peltoniemi’s texts have the ability to transform even the most ordinary into extraordinary and everyday life into an adventure. Peltoniemi said she writes organic fantasy that combines everyday reality with the countless possibilities of the imagination.
