‘World-class literature comes from Finland’ – An interview with Elina Ahlbäck

“We [Finland and the Agency] are already renowned for offering world-class literature.” Using her global network of publisher contacts, Elina Ahlback believes Finnish literature exports can still grow ten-fold.

When former bookseller and publisher, Elina Ahlbäck founded her eponymous agency in 2009, she was a pioneer. Now, the work has paid off and, for example, Salla Simukka’s books have been published in 52 territories, with film and TV rights added to the business’s licensing activities.
