Storm Sisters, the YA pirate series by Mintie Das created in collaboration with Rovio Books, continues to make waves. We are thrilled to announce that Book I, The Sinking World (Rovio Entertainment 2014), has been selected as one of 11 works for Books at Berlinale, an event that introduces film producers to new literary works with strong potential for a big-screen adaptation.
The Elina Ahlback Literary Agency is proud to be selling world rights to Storm Sisters. Please contact the Agency for a full English text of The Sinking World.
Held for the tenth time and organized in cooperation with the Frankfurt Book Fair, Books at Berlinale will take place on February 10th. Storm Sisters was selected among approximately 130 books submitted from more than 25 countries. Film producers can register to participate in the event until February 6th at books(at)berlinale.de.
We are also excited to announce the latest foreign sale for Storm Sisters: JCS Media, publisher of Angry Birds titles in Hungary, has acquired rights to The Sinking World and The Frozen Seas, books I and II in the series. Rights were previously sold in France to Éditions Robert Laffont, in Finland to Tammi Publishers and in Indonesia to Gramedia. We wish Mintie Das and her “Pirettes” our warmest congratulations!
About Storm Sisters:
Set in the late 1700s but told in a lively, contemporary voice, the Storm Sisters series follows five girls from different corners of the world who defy expectations and face dangerous enemies by sailing the high seas on their own. The series, which takes the female heroism of The Hunger Games and The Mortal Instruments to the next level, starts with The Sinking World, and continues with The Frozen Seas in 2015. For more information visit the Storm Sisters official site, and see an interview with author Mintie Das!
