EU Literature Prize winner The Ice Cream Man sold in Denmark

LipsonnewsletterJun2014We are excited to announce that Jensen & Dalgaard, a publisher of literary fiction, has acquired Danish rights to Katri Lipson‘s The Ice Cream Man (Jäätelökauppias, Tammi 2012), winner of the EU Prize for Literature 2013.

See here the EUPL 2013 Interview with Katri Lipson.

Set in the Czech Republic and Sweden, The Ice Cream Man explores themes of guilt, humanity and the fuzzy lines between fact and fiction in a narrative spanning several generations.

“It is an honour for us to bring Katri Lipson to the Danish audience. We are excited about The Ice Cream Man, an intelligent and intriguing novel on identity and Europeanness,” says Jeanne Dalgaard, Publisher at Jensen & Dalgaard.

This spring, to mark the Czech-language publication of The Ice Cream Man, author Katri Lipson visited the Czech Republic. Respekt, a weekly magazine, published an extensive review by Czech author Jan Nemec (read the review here) who examined the book’s varied narrative perspectives and praised Lipson’s psychological insights and ability to set the scene.
