Passion shakes the very foundations of existence in Juha Itkonen’s new novel. National bestseller: 10,000 copies sold!

A bittersweet love story in the spirit of classics such as Kazuo Ishiguro, Milan Kundera, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Ford Madox Ford

Marja walks into Lasse’s secondhand bookstore on a cold and clear winter day. It’s an opportune moment for them both. Their romance long ago serves as the spark for a passionate relationship in which two hungry souls find their perfect match, and Lasse and Marja share everything with each other, their thoughts as well as their bodies.

Marja is estranged from her husband, an executive at Nokia, and is coming into her own in middle age. Lasse, who has always lived alone, understands the opportunity he’s been given: the unbearable lightness of love is within his reach, and yet something holds him back. Years later, Lasse returns to this turning point in his life. What happened and why?

Tomorrow I’ll Tell You Everything is a charged and elegant story that makes the readers ponder the greatest choices in life.

“Itkonen offers his readers not only entertainment, messy relationships and surprising plot twists, but the narrator cuts himself mercilessly [--] it is insightfully exploring the “wonderful bundle of qualities” called human beings. I began to wonder about these traits in myself as I was reading and continued to do so for a long time afterwards. Therefore, I have to say that Juha Itkonen, in his fifties, has written an intense and wise psychological novel. [--] A love story, a lament, and a late-life reckoning, all in one.”

Juha Itkonen (b. 1975) is one of the most recognized voices in contemporary Finnish literature. He has published eight novels, a novella collection, a children’s book, several plays, and an epistolary novel co-written with Kjell Westö. His works often explore themes of family, generations, and parenthood, and are known for their emotional depth, energy, and a touch of melancholy.

Itkonen loves music, both as a listener and a player, which shows in his books. The passing of time is an eternal mystery at the core of his writing – his novels tend to have a melancholy undertone, yet they are also filled with life, humor, and energy. He lives in the Arabianranta district of Helsinki with his wife, Maija Itkonen, and their four children.

A film based on his novel The More Loving One (Anna minun rakastaa enemmän, Teos 2005) was released in Fall 2025.
