Benn turns 15, but instead of cake and presents, he gets the first quest of his life.

When his wizard grandfather forgets his birthday and instead throws him down into the basement to fight failed monster experiments, Benn discovers something unexpected: he can conjure blue fire from his hand. And not only that, his sense of adventure is awakened and suddenly nothing is the same anymore.

With humour, magic and role-playing logic, Benn is thrown into an unknown world where most things can have a level, where a post box can be a monster and where boundaries only exist if you set them yourself.

In a world that could have been drawn by Studio Ghibli, with a sense of humour in a warm and whimsical style reminiscent of Terry Pratchett's Discworld-series, but combined with the fast-paced, anime-like action from novels such as Will Wright's Cradle-series and Matt Dinniman's Dungeon Crawler Carl, The Blue Flame is the start of the a new trilogy by Ted Forsström!
