Nina Honkanen
Author-screenwriter Nina Honkanen was born in Pori in 1968, spent her childhood in Rauma, and has lived since 1983 in Brighton, Paris, Munich, and Helsinki. Honkanen, who has brought into the world, among other things, five novels, non-fiction/biographies, radio plays, documentaries, TV series/film scripts, plays, columns, and four sons, has been writing professionally for 30 years, most recently the novel Rakkaani, Vladimir (Into). She has also worked for years at Yleisradio as a radio and TV journalist as well as a documentarian. The TV series L/Over, based on the novel Rock Bottom, was nominated in the main competition at Canneserie 2025 and has been sold to, among others, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, and France. The Finnish premiere (MTV3) will be in winter 2026.
