Two-book Swedish deal for Tatiana Elf!

We are very happy to share that the Swedish rights for Tatiana Elf’s IMPOSTOR and MASTER have been acquired by Storytel! This follows last week’s deal to Iceland where the rights were acquired by Drápa Forlag. The deal was closed by Noora Al-Ani at Ahlbäck Agency. We also have a Greek two-book offer under negotiation.

REQUEST MATERIALS FOR THE REBEKKA NUMMI SERIES

Rebekka Nummi is a young, intelligent and irresistibly charismatic sociopath who can charm almost anyone. Determined to keep her darker impulses under control, she attends therapy, until meeting Alex, the first person to awaken feelings she never thought possible. But when Alex’s secrets come to light, Rebekka is forced to cross a line from which there is no return. Packed with psychological tension, shocking twists, and an unforgettable antiheroine, Impostor keeps readers hooked until the final page.

Impostor is a kind of superhero origin story, in which revenge gives the protagonist wings that carry them from drifting through life to purposeful action, made possible by the key traits of sociopathy: impulsiveness, deceitfulness, and indifference. [–] Impostor is the best debut crime novel of the year so far. Of course, nothing less is expected from Elf, who won the Golden Venla award in 2018 for the screenplay of the Keisari Aarnio series. The author’s long career in television is evident in the novel’s tight pacing and smooth plot development.”

About author

Tatiana Elf

Tatiana Elf is a versatile author and screenwriter living in Helsinki. She has been the head writer and creator of various popular and critically acclaimed Finnish crime drama series (Roba, Fast), winning the award for best drama for Keisari Aarnio in 2018. She has also created, written and directed several reality and entertainment series (Love Connection, Dancing with the Stars, Supertähdet). She started her career by writing for the most popular daily TV drama (Secret Lives) in Finland.

She was born in South-Africa and is half Finnish, half Slovakian. She has a BA in Psychology and Sociology from London Metropolitan University and an MA in Philosophy from University of Helsinki. Her studies help her create interesting and complex characters both for screen and novels, especially when it comes to crime writing. She is passionate about research and the complexity of the human mind. She is praised for her candid portrayal of caregiving, especially in her autobiographical novel and her dramedy series (Goldfish) based on her mother with Alzheimer's. She uses emotional authenticity and humor even with darker themes.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, solo travelling, home renovation, binge-streaming series and caring for her friend’s pets. She is quite accident prone and therefore a constant source of worry to her friends.
