Fischer acquires German rights to My Little Creature by Ulf Stark and Linda Bondestam!

Stark_Min egen lilla liten_coverWe are very happy to announce that German rights to My Little Creature (Schildts & Söderströms 2014), authored by Ulf Stark and illustrated by Linda Bondestam, have been acquired by Fischer Verlag for publication in Spring 2016.

Fischer Verlag is one of Germany’s largest publishers, and home to authors such as Thomas Mann. Rights to My Little Creature were previously acquired by Enchanted Lion Books in the World English territories, Berghs in Sweden and Teos in Finland.

“I fell in love with My Little Creature at first sight. The story is moving, and Linda Bondestam creates an extraordinary and congenial world of pictures. Her beautiful collages remind me of the artwork of Leo Lionni, and they have a pleasant retro charm.”
– Bettina Herre, Editor, Fischer

Nominated for the 2014 Finlandia Junior Prize and praised by critics, My Little Creature tells the story of a lonely creature living in a dark cave who falls in love with a stray ray of sunshine.
