Finlandia Winner DEEP IN THE WOODS By Päivi Lukkarila sold to Denmark, Latvian offer on the table

We’re thrilled to announce that the Danish rights for Päivi Lukkarila‘s bestselling, and Finlandia Prize-winning YA novel, DEEP IN THE WOODS, were acquired by Bogoo. The deal was closed by Martti Berner at Elina Ahlback Literary Agency.

Päivi Lukkarila’s novel about four teenagers who embark on a smartphone-free weekend wilderness trek was an immediate success with the Finnish critics and readers, with many praising its use of language, its depictions of the challenges young adults face in their lives, and its ominous atmosphere. Deep in the Woods was awarded the 2024 Finlandia Prize for Children’s an YA Literature and it has sold close to 10,000 copies to date!

The Danish deal marks its second rights sale, following last month’s acquisition by Ühinenud Ajakirjad in Estonia. And there’s more exciting news — an offer for the Latvian rights is currently on the table!
