Finnish crime trilogies, Palokaski and Snow White, conquer new territories!

SimukkaPalokaski03092014We are excited to announce that two Finnish hit crime trilogies, Salla Simukka’s Snow White Trilogy and J.K. Johansson’s Palokaski Trilogy (both published by Tammi in Finland), have been picked up by new international publishers. BTC Sahinpasic acquired rights to The Snow White Trilogy in Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro, marking the 45th and 46th territory in which Simukka’s hit YA series has been sold. Meanwhile, Albatros Media/XYZ in the Czech Republic acquired the Palokaski Trilogy.

The Snow White Trilogy comprises As Red as Blood, As White as Snow and As Black as Ebony. Starring a headstrong, haunted and sharp 17-year-old girl named Lumikki Andersson, the series has received rave reviews and buzz around the globe, including a praise from the Financial Times and starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews and Booklist.

A hybrid of Twin Peaks, Gone Girl and Nordic crime, the page-turning Palokaski Trilogy comprises Laura, Noora and Venla. It centres on the disappearance of three girls in an ordinary Finnish suburb and dives into the online-dominated lives of modern teenagers. The trilogy was published in Poland and the Netherlands to an enthusiastic critical reception this summer.

“This book feels realistic and disturbingly rooted in everyday life…it is an allegory for the ambiguity and deception present in our virtual lives in the 21st century.”
