Tokyo Sogensha buys rights to Leena Lehtolainen’s Snow Woman and The Death Spiral

The esteemed Japanese publisher Tokyo Sogensha has acquired the Japanese rights to two books in Leena Lehtolainen’s Maria Kallio series. The Japanese edition of Snow Woman, the fourth book in the series, will be launched in 2012/2013. The Death Spiral, the fifth Maria Kallio book, will be published in 2013.

Tokyo Sogensha, one of Japan’s major publishing houses, publishes the works of Henning Mankell among others. Lehtolainen’s Maria Kallio books will be translated directly from Finnish into Japanese.

The deal makes Japan already the 24^th Leena Lehtolainen territory. Earlier this year Lehtolainen’s works have been sold to Germany, Romania, Hungary and Poland.
