Finnish Weird: Johanna Sinisalo’s new novel The Blood of Angels published to rave reviews

Author Johanna Sinisalo’s new novel, The Blood of Angels (Enkelten verta), was published in Finland in late September and received great reviews:

Sinisalo’s work is often categorized as fantasy or science fiction, but the author herself prefers to describe her novels as ‘weird’. “‘Weird’ is a good term for all ‘diagonal’ genres of this kind, hybrids of these genres, and genres that don’t have any other name”, Sinisalo points out in an article called “Weird and proud of it”, published in the Literary Journal Books from Finland.
