Viivi Luik to be represented by Ahlback Agency

We are pleased to announce that Viivi Luik, one of Estonia’s most esteemed contemporary writers will be represented by the Elina Ahlback Literary Agency. Viivi Luik is a two-time winner of the Cultural Award of the Republic of Estonia: in 1992 for The Beauty of History (Ajaloo ilu) and in 2010 for her latest novel Shadow Play (Varjuteater).

In addition to being an award-winning novelist, Luik is also a children’s writer, poet, essayist and dramatist.  Her works have been translated into a number of languages. Luik’s latest novel Shadow Play was written after a 19-year break from writing, and it portrays a lifelong journey to Rome, a trip from a poor, remote country to the epicenter of ancient culture. Full of twists and turns, the story about a country girl finding herself truly keeps readers holding their breath. Shadow Play will be published in Finland by Tammi Publishers this Fall.
