Finnish writers visiting the Edinburgh International Book Festival
Award-winning authors Riitta Jalonen, Sari Peltoniemi, Esko-Pekka Tiitinen, Tomi Kontio and Annika Luther are representing Finnish children’s literature at the Edinburgh International Book Festival on 13.–29.8.2011.
Held in the capital city of Scotland, the esteemed festival has united writers from all over the world ever since its commencement in 1983. The Finnish writers are participating in the Children’s Programme, which features more than 200 events for children and teens, including workshops, panel discussions, author events and storytelling. The visiting Finns are attending a series of events, reading their books to children and offering fascinating insight into their works, proving that “there’s more to Finland than the Moomins”.
