Finnish children’s and youth rights sold to China and Denmark
The Simplified Chinese rights to Kristiina Louhi’s much-loved Tomppa (Tommy) and Aino (Annie) series were sold to China right before Christmas.
Kristiina Louhi started the Annie series already back in 1984 and the books have been translated into more than 10 languages so far. Today the first generation of Annie fans is reading the books to their children! The Tommy series followed and debuted in 1993, with the latest book, Tommy and Apricot’s Milk (Tomppa ja taatelin maito, 2010) being the 13th title in this classic children’s picture book series.
The first three books of both series will be introduced to their Chinese readers simultaneously in Spring 2011.
Maria Turtschaninoff’s fantasy youth novel Arra will be published in Denmark in Autumn 2011. Arra was nominated for the prestigious Finlandia Junior Prize in 2009. Maria Turtschaninoff’s second book, Underfors, has been applauded by book lovers and critics alike. Please request for Swedish sample translations and reading copies.
