Finnish literary fiction published in the US
Jyrki Vainonen‘s short story The Garden (Puutarha) from the collection Lasin läpi (Through A Glass, 2007) has been published in the prominent US online magazine Words without Borders’s December 2010 issue. The text was translated by Lola Rogers, translator of Sofi Oksanen‘s Purge (Puhdistus). Words without Borders translates, publishes and promotes the finest contemporary international literature. Previous authors in the magazine have been e.g. Herta Müller, Per Petterson and W.G. Sebald, as well as many new and rising international writers.
