Birds in Snowlight
Birds in Motion, published in 2009 by the same photographers, was the subject of both admiration and amazement with its incredible images and bold layout, which drew the images together through visual associations.
Birds in Snowlight follows its predecessor in displaying the newest and most innovative bird photography of our time.
In this book, the snow is present in every photo either as a visible element, an ecological factor, or just in the background, reflecting the light; the reflections of the snow make the birds’ undersides glow with light and colour in a way that would be impossible for photos taken without the snow covering the ground. Thanks to a long snowy season, Finland is a nature photographer’s dream, drawing many foreign photographers thanks to the unique light in the country.
