The Trolls of Skulk Mountain
The moon’s child cuts the grain of sleep, while the troll’s child is quite a sneak!
Exciting and atmospheric troll tales with Christel Rönns’ charming illustrations.
Trolls live in their own holes in underground caves, but sometimes they need human company, or even human assistance. As a reward, the trolls might give out a piece of dark bread, a good catch of fish, or gold coins from their treasure chests.
Eija Timonen’s troll stories take the reader from the depths of the forest to the heart of the mountain, and from there to the circus. In troll country, there’s plenty of excitement and humour for everyone. Max gets to visit the land of the trolls, where he meets a feisty troll princess, who is about to be wedded to the mountain king of Trunk Mountain. Tuomo, on the other hand, is fishing at the pond when a little old man rows to the shore. Bubbling cheerfully, the boat sinks into the lake, but that doesn’t seem to bother Tuomo’s strange visitor. He cheerfully greets Tuomo, introducing himself as Veeti, hailing from the other side. When Tuomo wonders about the sinking boat, Veeti just smiles:
- Never you mind. That which goes to the other side, remains safe on the other side.
The Trolls of Skulk Mountain is a captivating collection of fairy tales for the whole family!
