The Hurricane Detective Club, consisting of veteran sleuths Jesse, Jenni, Matias, and Karoliina, are living through an exciting time in their lives. The youths are preparing for the class trip of their dreams: London. The fuss surrounding the class trip is enough to set anyone’s head spinning. Jenni is the most apprehensive about going – a foreign country and language seem like too much for her.

London charms the youths: there are a thousand things to see and experience in a busy metropolis. One evening the sixth graders receive an invitation to Varpu Miller’s luxury mansion. The fancy evening party goes off without a hitch, but then the butler is confronted by a chilling surprise in the treasure room upstairs! There’s been a bold robbery at the mansion, and the guilty party must still be present…

The Hurricane Detective Club sets about solving this tricky case. It takes the foursome on an adventure through museums, malls, and metro tunnels, to the banks of the night-time river Thames, where they are confronted by a jarring memory from the Club’s past.

The eighth book of the Hurricane Detective Club series provides another episode in the young Hurricanes’ eventful lives. There are also plenty of laughs to go with the thrills, courtesy of a comic couple: the teachers Heimo Haulisto and Haapaniemi, he a master of eccentric humour, she a jealous wife.
