Anselmi’s Animals
Anselmi’s Animals introduces us to animals and their ways through a fun game of make believe. If here were cat, Anselmi would doze all day in the sun; as a parrot, he would speak both animal and human languages; but if he were a mosquito, he would never sting anyone. And even though Anselmi’s mother often thinks he’s really a little monkey, he is still evidently a human being!
The Anselmi books are Ilja Karsikas’ first illustrated children’s series, inspired by the writer’s childhood in North Finland and his sister’s three boys. What makes Anselmi a charming character is that he really seems to see and experience the world through the playful imagination of a small child.

Anselmi’s Numbers
Anselmi’s numbers tells about the adventures of Anselmi, a lively little boy with an equally lively imagination. His family consists of his mother, father, two little brothers, and three pets: a bunny, a dog, and a turtle. Thus, just from his close family, Anselmi has a lot of numbers, and when he also counts his grandparents, neighbours, the inhabitants of the aquarium, and his own fingers, he gets from one to ten – and a little bit more.
