Frankfurt deals for The Little Book of Bad Moods in China, Japan, and Brazil: 20 territories sold

After the very successful Frankfurt Book Fair we are happy to announce that The Little Book of Bad Moods by Lotta Sonninen has now been sold to 20 territories! The latest deals include BrazilChinaJapan and Lithuania. Bad moods have taken the world by storm as the book will now be published on four continents – and it looks like more good news will follow.

Pre-Frankfurt deals were closed at auctions in the US with Simon & Schuster/Gallery Books and in the UK with Bloomsbury.

In Brazil the book was pre-empted by Editora Globo/Globo Livros. They publish authors such as Elena Ferrante, Khaled Hosseini, and Sylvia Plath as well as wide range of bestselling non-fiction titles.

In China The Little Book of Bad Moods was pre-empted by CITIC Press Corporation: a leading knowledge, culture and lifestyle provider in China with more than 1000 titles published each year from popular reading to bestsellers and classics. They were proud to add this activity book on their impressive list of non-fiction titles, and they found it very timely and important.

“This book deals with emotions that everybody feels daily, but never dares to face.”
– CITIC Press, Yinghong LI, Deputy Editor-in-Chief

The rights were sold at auction in Japan. The Japanese rights went to President Sha, which is a non-fiction publisher primarily well known in Japan for their flagship business self-help magazine ”President” and is expanding their trade book audience.

In Lithuania, the rights were sold to Baltos Lankos, one of the leading publishers of the country.

The Little Book of Bad Moods includes activities like the blame game (what’s wrong with your life – and whose fault it is), getting frank (the things you should have said then and there) and crying over spilled milk (no need to forget and forgive). Let’s get cranky!
