We are thrilled to announce that New York-based Enchanted Lion Books has acquired World English rights to My Little Creature (Schildts & Söderströms 2014), a picture book authored by Ulf Stark and illustrated by Linda Bondestam.
Nominated for the Finlandia Junior Prize, My Little Creature tells the story of a lonely creature living in a dark cave who falls in love with a stray ray of sunshine.
Enchanted Lion Books is an independent publishing company focusing on well-told stories and illustrations that enrich the imagination and a child’s sense of story. Among their recent successes are Mister Orange by Truus Matti, which was given the 2014 Mildred L. Batchelder Award by the American Library Association, and Ballad by Blexbolex, which was selected as one of The New York Times’s Best Illustrated Books of 2013.

About Linda Bondestam and Ulf Stark:
Linda Bondestam is one of Finland’s most beloved and acclaimed illustrators. Her accolades include an award from the Society of Swedish Literature in Finland, and nominations for the Finlandia Junior Prize and the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. Ulf Stark is a legendary Swedish author and screenwriter whose numerous honours include the Nordic Children’s Book Prize. His collaborations with Linda Bondestam include The Dictator (Schildts & Söderströms 2010), the rights to which have been sold in 10 languages, and Everything (Schildts & Söderströms 2012).
