Elina Ahlback Literary Agency is pleased to report that the World English rights to Kari Nars‘ Miten miljoonia huijataan (“Swindling Billions”) have been sold to a UK publisher. Marshall Cavendish International plans to publish the book in 2011.
The Hungarian rights to the graphic novel Sarasvatin hiekkaa (“Sands of Sarasvati”) by Risto Isomäki, Petri Tolppanen and Jussi Kaakinen were aqcuired by comics publisher Nyitott Könyvmûhely Kiadó. The text will be translated in collaboration with the University of Debrecen. The Hungarian edition will be released in October 2010.
Elina Ahlback Literary Agency has sold the rights to four Tove Appelgren and Salla Savolainen‘s Vesta-Linnea books to China. The same publisher also aqcuired the Simplified Chinese rights to Tittamari Marttinen and Christel Rönns‘ Nepi ja koiravahti and Tapani Bagge and Salla Savolainen‘s Tahvo ja Bella pyörremyrskyssä.
In another deal Danish publisher Carlsen bought the rights to Mervi Lindman‘s Urhea pikku Memmuli. The title will be released in November 2010.

Finnish crime star Leena Lehtolainen is entering new markets once again when her books are made available for millions of readers in Russia and Turkey.
The Russian language rights to Lehtolainen’s Maria Kallio series’ Ensimmäinen murhani and Harmin paikka were acquired by Moscow-based AST Publishers in July. The publisher is planning to release both titles in Spring 2011.
Turkish Bizim Kitaplar recently bought the rights to Kuolemanspiraali for their 2011 crime list, making Turkey the 17th Leena Lehtolainen country!
Elina Ahlbäck Literary Agency has successfully sold Lehtolainen’s rights since March 2010. In Germany and France Leena Lehtolainen‘s position on the crime fiction markets has already been stabilised with new titles coming out frequently. Other recent Lehtolainen deals have been made with Spanish, Italian and Polish publishing houses.
