Finnish Tammi Publishers has signed a representation agreement with Elina Ahlbäck Literary Agency Oy Ltd

Tammi Publishers invests strongly on the sales of foreign rights of their authors and illustrators in international markets and has signed a representation agreement with Elina Ahlbäck Literary Agency Oy Ltd, as from 1st of March, 2010.

Tammi has sold translation rights for books in fiction, children’s books and non-fiction to 40 countries and to 32 languages. Over the last two years, we have concluded foreign deals for over 100 new books. Demand for our authors’ and illustrators’ works in international markets has grown rapidly, and in three years our sales of foreign rights has tripled its size. Finnish literature has great potential and interest abroad, says Anne Valsta, CEO of Tammi Publishers.

Finland will be the Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2014. Tammi Publishers is preparing for this major international event in collaboration with FILI Finnish Literature Exchange, Finnish Publishers’ Association and other partners in book business. Elina Ahlbäck Literary Agency brings new, innovative views and professional competence to this mutual endeavor, says Mrs Valsta.

As from 1st of March 2010, Elina Ahlbäck Literary Agency represents Tammi Publishers’ Authors and Illustrators in foreign markets negotiating rights in fiction, children’s books, and non-fiction. The agency also represents foreign publishers such as Bloomsbury and Walker & Co, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers and Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing exclusively in Scandinavia. As from 1st of January 2010 Elina Ahlbäck Literary Agency represents Stephenie Meyer’s forthcoming books such as Twilight the Graphic Novel in Scandinavia.

Psychiatrist Ben Furman’s books about Kids Skills has been published in 10 languages. In children’s books, works by authors Sinikka and Tiina Nopola, Timo Parvela, Riitta Jalonen and Kristiina Louhi as well as Tove Appelgren and Salla Savolainen have been published in 10 languages.
